Emma Park
Emma is a third generation physiotherapist, following in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps. She graduated with a 1st class BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of Liverpool in 2010. She has 14 years experience treating sports injuries and joint pain within sports teams and military personnel as well as the general population in the private and public sector.
Emma initially worked in the NHS in Merseyside for 3 years working across all areas of physiotherapy before moving to New Zealand and specialising in musculoskeletal pain and injury.
In Auckland, New Zealand, Emma worked in a Physiotherapy and Pilates Clinic, teaching mat and reformer Pilates as well as providing physiotherapy services for work-related pain/injury and sports injuries.
In 2015, Emma returned to England, where she became a senior physiotherapist working within the Ministry of Defence treating injured military personnel. Following this, she worked in a fast-paced NHS musculoskeletal outpatients department treating the local population for a wide range of musculoskeletal pain and injury presentations.
In 2019, Emma decided to move back home to her roots in Helen’s Bay, Northern Ireland to raise her family. She now works as a Advanced Practice Physiotherapist within the Fracture Clinic in the Royal Victoria Hospital, providing acute care and rehab for patients following fractures and dislocations and tendon ruptures. Emma’s has a special interest in Achilles tendon ruptures and Achilles rehabilitation following injury.
Get to know me….
At the weekend I enjoy meeting up with friends for a Park run in Crawfordsburn Country Park, or a sea dip on Helen’s Bay beach. However, my favourite thing to do is spend time with Charlie and our 2 gorgeous boys – Joseph and Rory.
I used to say my proudest achievement was training and running the Liverpool Marathon in 2012. However, my proudest achievement is now being “mum” to my two awesome boys.
